The new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL Class, which is available at your local Mercedes-Benz dealers, is an improvement over the 2008 models. According to this Edmunds review, it seems like the engineers and designers of the 2009 model addressed every concern that driver had with the previous year’s model to make the SL-Class one of the best ever made.
One of the major changes you’ll see on many of the 2009 models is the new design in the front. It’s more “aggressive” and sportier than the earlier model which seemed more like a “trophy wife crowd” rather than a crowd that would take Mercedes-Benz seriously. In addition to that, the newest model has upgraded suspension and steering as well as an Active Body Control system to keep the car hugging the road even in the curviest of situations.
The new SL-Class also shares a similar engine to the one that Mercedes uses for AMG models. This 6.2-liter V8 engine has a seven-speed automatic manual transmission. It has “lightning-quick shifts” without the jerking motions of some other automated manual transmissions.
Of course, within this class are several styles and trims. We’ll address those in a future blog and pick out some differences and improvements on particular styles. Or you can visit your local Mercedes-Benz dealer and check out the differences in person for a much better perspective.

I heard about an event taking place this month for anyone interested in Mercedes and exotic cars. It is called Targa Trophy and it is a one-day road race from LA to Santa Barbara and back. Should be cool for anyone in the area. The website is http://www.targatrophy.com/
