The Australian professional golfer scored a 68 on Sunday at Kapalua’s prestigious course. That’s a five-under-par score that led him to victory in the $5.6 million event. In total, Ogilvy had a 24-under 268 score. That was six strokes better than Anthony Kim and Davis Love, two of the American golfers participating in this year’s event.

Ogilvy was modest about his win, too. “I had never had a six-shot lead before. That’s quite an uncomfortable feeling really,” he said in an interview. “I enjoyed the last 2 ½ hours more than I enjoyed the first two.” With his win on Sunday, he picked up a check worth more than $1 million and he also has a guaranteed spot in next year’s tournament. He also became the eighth consecutive international player to win the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Kapalua.
