Mercedes Dealers Welcome the New “Baby SUV”

Many people in the auto industry are calling the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK a “baby SUV” because of its compact size. Your Mercedes dealers are happy to offer the new GLK whether you want to call it a baby SUV, a compact SUV or any other name you can come up for it.

According to an article in SFGate, the GLK arrives on the market “just in time to satisfy the wants and needs of a wide range of buyers looking for decent fuel economy in a luxury SUV.” Motorists are looking for the convenience and roominess of an SUV without the high cost of filling them up at the gas station every couple days and the GLK accommodates those desires.

The 2010 GLK has several interior features that attract luxury car drivers, too. The 4.5-inch display in the dash “is linked to a 12-button multi-function steering wheel that can call up a variety of helpful information such as odometer range, oil level, distance, time traveled and average speed and mpg.” In addition to that data, it can also show the driver information from the phone and audio system in a matter of seconds.

Benz Dealers Tout the New E-Class Mercedes-Benz

When the new E-Class is available at Benz dealers across the country, you’re going to be impressed by the new look and technology that these luxury vehicles have. The automaker allowed the press a quick look at the new 2010 E-Class just before the auto show began, but prices have not been announced just yet.

The “sneak peek” that the journalists had of the 2010 E-Class was short, but it was basically to whet everybody’s appetite for its official unveiling at the upcoming auto show in Geneva. These cars will not go on sale at Benz dealers in the United States until this summer as the E350 and E550 models. The E63 AMG and the E350 Bluetec versions do not reach Benz dealers until 2010.

One of the more exciting standard features for the 2010 E-Class is the attention assist system. This feature monitors the driver’s behavior and gives an audible warning if they appear to be drowsy or driving erratically. The E-Class is also borrowing features from other Mercedes-Benz models, such as the blind spot, night view and lane departure warning features for the utmost safety on the roads.

Since these new models will be at your Flemington, NJ area Mercedes-Benz dealers this summer, it’s time to get excited and start saving up now!

Mercedes-Benz Dealers Warn about Unprotected GPS Devices

Your Mercedes-Benz dealers want to bring an article to your attention about GPS devices, car theft and passwords. Many people with luxury vehicles have a GPS device either built into their cars or as a standalone device. The problem is that they do not protect their device and information with a password.

That’s exactly what happened to this wealthy man. He had his Mercedes-Benz stolen from Manhasset restaurant. The car thieves took the Mercedes keys from the valet station and also found the keys to man’s Porsche once they got in the Benz. After thinking for a minute, the thieves looked up the guy’s address on his GPS device and went to his house. When he called home, the Porsche was already gone.

Many people use stories like this to say GPS devices are dangerous. But GPS devices are a good thing for people to have. They can be used to track vehicles in case they are stolen as well as help drivers find directions to anywhere they need to go. The key is to keep your GPS device password-protected so thieves cannot simply look at your device and find out where you live. Your Lawrenceville, NJ Mercedes-Benz dealer encourages you to utilize this important tip and keep your valuables and your family safe.

Mercedes Dealers Offer Tips for Custom Orders

If you’re going to invest in a new car from your Mercedes dealers, you might as well go all the way and get one custom-ordered. But if you’ve never custom-ordered a car, you may not even know how to go about doing it. Here are some tips to help you custom order your new car from your Mercedes dealers.

1. Put some thought into it. Before you even go to your Mercedes dealer, make some notes about what you want in your car. Consider the color of the interior, the fabric, the accents and the trim as well as other aspects.
2. Consider the cost. Custom-ordered cars are not cheap. You can expect to pay thousands more for a car that meets your specifications.
3. Find the right Mercedes dealers. Your relationship with the dealer is going to be important when you order a custom-made vehicle. The better your relationship, the more likely the dealer will be to get your order right and delivered in a timely manner. Your Cherry Hill, NJ Mercedes-Benz dealer is more than happy to help you through the process of custom ordering your new car. Check us out today to get the car of your dreams tomorrow!

Benz Dealers Congratulate Ogilvy

Your Benz dealers want to congratulate the winner of this year’s PGA Mercedes-Benz Championship, Geoff Ogilvy.

The Australian professional golfer scored a 68 on Sunday at Kapalua’s prestigious course. That’s a five-under-par score that led him to victory in the $5.6 million event. In total, Ogilvy had a 24-under 268 score. That was six strokes better than Anthony Kim and Davis Love, two of the American golfers participating in this year’s event.

Ogilvy was modest about his win, too. “I had never had a six-shot lead before. That’s quite an uncomfortable feeling really,” he said in an interview. “I enjoyed the last 2 ½ hours more than I enjoyed the first two.” With his win on Sunday, he picked up a check worth more than $1 million and he also has a guaranteed spot in next year’s tournament. He also became the eighth consecutive international player to win the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Kapalua.

You don’t have to be a PGA champion to drive a Mercedes-Benz, though. With affordable prices for new and certified used luxury vehicles, now is the perfect time to feel like a champ by visiting your Princeton, NJ area Mercedes-Benz dealer and getting behind the wheel of the car of your dreams. Mercedes-Benz Dealers Warn against Talking and Driving

You’ve probably heard about the growing number of states trying to ban the use of handheld cell phones for drivers behind the wheel. But your Mercedes-Benz dealers want to bring your attention to an entirely new movement going on right now. The National Safety Council wants to ban the use of hands-free cell phones when you’re driving, too. The rationale is that you are more likely to lose your focus and get into an accident when talking even though both hands are on the wheel.

“Studies show that driving while talking on a cell phone is extremely dangerous and puts drivers at a four times greater risk of a crash,” said Janet Froetscher, CEO of the NSC. That includes people talking on Bluetooth and other hands-free devices. “When you’re on a call, even if both hands are on the wheel, your head is in the call, and not on your driving,” she explained.

According to the Harvard Center of Risk Analysis, cell phone conversations account for about six percent of crashes each year. That might not seem like a large percentage, but it “equals 636,000 crashes, 330,000 injuries, 12,000 serious injuries and 2,600 deaths.” Try telling those 2,600 families that a six percent contribution doesn’t make much difference in the overall perspective.

You may want to call all your friends when you’re on your way home from buying a new car from your Lawrenceville, NJ Mercedes-Benz dealer. However, suppress that urge and wait until you get home. It’s not worth the risk to try it when you’re behind the wheel.

Mercedes Dealers Welcome Trade-Ins

Your Mercedes dealers want to discuss some legislation that is being proposed in the Senate right now. Earlier this month, a bill was introduced that would offer low-income families a $10,000 incentive if they trade in their old, gas-guzzling cars for newer, more efficient vehicles. Here are some details of that bill:

• Eligible consumers would have to make less than $25,000 per year. Eligible households need to make less than $40,000 to qualify for the incentive.
• Eligible automobiles for purchase following a trade-in would have to be manufactured by a company with a facility in the United States. The new vehicles would also be required to have a fuel economy that “is not less than 25 miles per gallon, as determined by the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency…”
• The new vehicle must also have a fuel economy that is at least “4.9 miles per gallon greater than” the trade-in vehicle.
• The trade-in vehicle must be operable and registered under the eligible individual before December 1, 2008.

These are just a few details of the proposed bill. You can read the entire bill here. Your Cherry Hill, NJ area Mercedes-Benz dealer can also help you make sense of the new legislation if it passes. If it goes through, it will be a great way to start phasing out the older vehicles so we can put more efficient ones on the road. We’ll see what happens with this and keep you updated.
