Buick PA Dealers May Get Improved Windshields

One of the largest groups of drivers on the roads today is senior citizens. Most of them are good drivers. They use their turn signals, they know where they are going and they are very cautious about their driving habits. However, some older drivers thing it’s acceptable to drive even when they can’t see very well.

That’s exactly the problem that some GM researchers are trying to fix. They are working on a “futuristic windshield” that combines infrared sensors, lasers and a camera to help drivers see “what’s happening on the road” more clearly.

This technology is still in the research stage. However, with the senior citizen population in the United States almost doubling in size over the next two decades, there’s no better time than the present to begin working on something like this.

The new windshields will do many things. When it’s foggy outside, for instance, a laser “projects a blue line onto the windshield that follows the edge of the road.” If something is in the path of the driver, sensors detect it and they project an outline of it onto the windshield. These are just a couple things these “futuristic windshields” can do.

Until these new windshields are available on the market, why not visit a local Buick dealer and find a car with the latest safety features and technologies available? You owe it to yourself and other drivers if you’re going to share the road with them.

Mercedes-Benz Dealers Salute World’s Fastest Car

Mercedes-Benz released the SLR McLaren 722 – the world’s fastest open-top car – last year. Unfortunately, the automaker only released 150 of them and they were sold out before long.

Recently, however, Mercedes-Benz dealers may be getting other versions of this record-breaking vehicle. The automaker announced that it was introducing a “stripped-down” version of the speedster and an open-top roadster.

With the fixed-top 722 models, Mercedes-Benz only plans to make another 150 units. The first 150 sold as fast as they drove and the next 150 will likely sell just as fast if not faster. That’s an amazing feat considering that these models typically start with a price tag of about $500,000 for the 722 S. In addition to receiving a fixed-top, the 722 S model also has about nine more horsepower than the regular 722 model, giving it about 650 hp. Also, the 722 S can reach 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, which is only 1/10 of a second difference from the 722 with a hardtop.

As coveted as these uber fast vehicles are, you might have a difficult time getting your hands on one when they are finally released. However, you can still visit a local Mercedes-Benz dealer and get something that meets your needs.
