Buick Auto Dealers Remember David Buick

The next time you visit one of the Buick auto dealers near you, think about the history of the brand. Buick auto dealers are the result of one man who moved to Detroit, Michigan at the age of two when his parents emigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1856.

David Buick left school at the age of 14 or 15 to work for a company that specialized in plumbing goods. He and a partner took the company over when it ran into trouble about 12 years later. This is when he began working on innovations that would serve him so well in the auto industry. In fact, he created a method for enameling cast iron tubs that is still in use today. As a result of his ideas and his partner’s business mind, the new plumbing company became very successful.

David Buick eventually became interested in the internal combustion engine. He experimented with them and spent much of his time studying them. As a result of his newfound interest, his partner grew impatient with him and they eventually parted ways and sold the company. This gave Buick the money he needed to study his new interest full-time. In 1899, he started the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company to market engines for agricultural purposes. Soon after, he began creating complete cars with one of these engines installed. By 1902, he spent all of the money he acquired from selling the plumbing business and had nothing to show for it besides a single car.

So how did David Buick turn that into what it is today? Come back on Wednesday for part two of the Buick story. Until then, visit your local Buick dealer and see how far the automaker has come since the days of David Buick.

Get the Best with Mercedes-Benz Dealers

You might think that the best in luxury vehicles comes from companies like Rolls Royce and Bentley, but you can also get the best in luxury vehicles at your Mercedes-Benz dealers. The CL550 Coupe, available at many Mercedes-Benz dealers across the country, has a base price of more than $103,000. But it’s well worth the price.

For one thing, the Mercedes CL550 is a pillarless coupe, which is hard to find in today’s new car market. In addition to that, the CL550 draws together many flattering themes of other MB models to create a sort of “super Mercedes” for the most elite and discerning car buyer.

Once behind the wheel, you’ll find a number of luxuries you would only expect from a car like Rolls Royce. Authentic leather comforts you as you look at the wood-covered console. The buttons that control the radio, A/C and other features have a metallic appearance, giving it that finished appearance. The driver’s seat also has 14-way adjustable heated seats for the pinnacle in comfort.

But there’s more about the seats. If you drive a lot, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy lumbar support that deflates and inflates twice each minute. That ensures less back pain and stiffness whether you’re driving to work each morning or taking a road trip across the country.

These and other features are exactly why you should see if there’s a CL550 Coupe available for sale at your local Mercedes-Benz dealer. You won’t buy it with your pocket change, but the price is worth owning one of these premier luxury vehicles.

Making Your Buick Used Cars Look New Again

If you’re a fan of Buick used cars like I am, you know the importance of keeping it clean and making it look presentable at all times. You can make your Buick used cars look like new again with just a few simple steps.

Evaluate the Exterior
The exterior of any Buick used cars is the first thing anybody is going to see. Usually, a nice wash will make it look like new. But you may need to touch-up some scratches that have happened over years of enjoyment. Your local Buick dealer probably has some touch-up paint specifically made for your particular color. If you have major scratches, a quick paint job will make it shine again just like new.

On to the Interior
While the exterior makes the first impression, the interior of your Buick used cars will show how well you’ve actually taken care of your vehicle. Do you have fast food wrappers all around? Is the ashtray full of used cigarettes? Are there burn holes in the upholstery? All of these show that you’ve been rather careless. But there is hope. You can find upholstery repair kits to fix those burn holes. Also, there are deodorizers that will take out the smell of cigarette smoke. A quick shampoo and steam cleaning will also bring back the natural beauty of the carpet and upholstery. Don’t forget the Armor All, either, for giving your dashboard a sleek shine.

There’s no reason to get rid of your Buick used cars simply because they don’t look like new. With a couple hours and some dedication, you can make it look just like new again.

Your PA Used Car Dealers Say, “Wake Up!”

You can find a wide selection of quality Mercedes-Benz vehicles at your favorite PA used car dealers. But the new feature that Mercedes is putting on some of its newest models won’t be on the lots of the PA used car dealers for another year or two at least. It’s still an exciting new feature to look for soon.

The Attention Assist System is a system of sensors that detects a variety of data to help the driver stay safe behind the wheel. The Attention Assist System detects driver habits, road conditions, vehicle speed and pedal operations. The computer then continuously analyzes the data to make sure the driver is alert at all times.

This would certainly come in handy for me. While I was driving home from a road trip recently, I drove all night save for a couple half-hour naps along the way. But I knew I was dozing off while driving on the highway. But if I had the Attention Assist System, it would’ve alerted me every time my driving habits were abnormal or less than attentive.

According to the researchers at Mercedes-Benz, a driver’s reaction time is cut in half after four hours of continuous driving. That means you are doubling your risk of accident. Unfortunately, you have a responsibility to other drivers so you should always be as alert as possible when you’re driving on the roads.

The feature hasn’t actually hit dealer lots yet, but you can visit your local Mercedes-Benz dealer to find out when you can get a model with the Attention Assist System.

PA Dealers Welcome Light on Crime

PA dealers and other businesses are looking forward to shedding some light on the city’s crime…literally. The Streets Department is installing the first of more than 1,000 new street lights throughout Philadelphia’s high-crime areas to help deter criminals and thieves from their typical outlaw activities when the sun goes down.

PA dealers are happy about the new lights because they will help keep vandals out of the car lots when everybody has gone home for the night.

In the past month, more than 80 new lights have gone up in two of the most crime-ridden districts. The project that includes more than 1,000 of these lights won’t be completed until next summer.

In addition to fighting crime, the City Managing Director also hopes the new lights will bring more people outdoors at night. By shedding light on some of the neighborhoods, residents may feel more secure on their own front porches than they do now.

Your PA dealers and your local Buick dealer in Philadelphia care about your safety and well-being. Do you think the new lights will be a deterrent to crime? Or are they just a waste of time? Leave your comments below and let us know your thoughts.

Pennsylvania Auto Dealers Ideal for Shopaholics

If you’re a shopaholic, have you thought about visiting one of your nearby Pennsylvania auto dealers for deal on a new or used Mercedes-Benz? That’s exactly what one Pittsburgh woman did recently, but her quest didn’t only include Pennsylvania auto dealers.

Yesterday, a federal judge in Pennsylvania threw out a woman’s defense when she claimed that she had a disorder that caused her to steal more than $750,000 from her former employer. Do you want to know what her disorder was? She was a shopaholic.

The former employee of WesDyne International used a company credit card to purchase a number of items. She paid for vacations on the card, bought a bunch of jewelry, paid for home improvements and even purchased a Mercedes-Benz from one of the many area Pennsylvania auto dealers.

Altogether, she created more than 1,700 fraudulent expense invoices to cover her tracks.

The woman’s attorney issued the defense that she “couldn’t help herself.” The only problem was that she didn’t do any of the spending on her personal credit cards. She saved it all for her company card. That showed she had control and knew exactly what she was doing. As a result, the judge ordered her to 33 months in prison.

You don’t have to be a shopaholic to enjoy nice things, though. At your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, you can get a great deal on a luxury vehicle without putting it on the company card. Visit one today and see what’s available!

Mercedes-Benz Dealers Won’t Make You Wait

At your Mercedes-Benz dealers, you’re treated as a priority. The sales staff won’t make you wait unnecessarily and we appreciate your business. Unfortunately, not every industry or business treats you like Mercedes-Benz dealers do. The airline industry is one industry that seems to treat customers horribly without any apologies whatsoever. Maybe that’s because the airports often make a profit even if they make your wait and miss your flight.

If you’ve been to an airport in the last ten years or so, you’ve probably noticed that the shopping opportunities and restaurants have gone more upscale than they were before. There’s probably a Starbucks in every airport across the nation. But you’ll also find yourself surrounded in what seems to be an exclusive shopping mall. And the longer the passengers need to wait for their flight, the more likely they are to spend money at one of the kiosks or stores in the airport. It’s almost like the airport caters to delayed passengers.

For instance, you can now get DVD rentals at many airports. If your flight is delayed for three hours, why not watch the latest releases and help the time fly by quick? Or how about having an upscale meal in one of the many restaurants before boarding your flight that’s been delayed for hours? All of these choices put more money into the pockets of the airline industry each year.

Don’t let yourself be treated like that. Your local Mercedes-Benz dealer is dedicated your satisfaction without playing games. Besides, isn’t it more fun to drive wherever you need to go with a luxury vehicle from one of the Mercedes-Benz dealers in your area? I think it is.

Buick Auto Dealers Remember Flint’s Sitdown Strike

The next time you visit one of your local Buick auto dealers, take a moment to reflect on the very first sitdown strike in Flint, Michigan more than five decades ago. Also known as Buick City and Vehicle City, Flint was the hub in which today’s biggest automakers. And although the UAW won strikes in smaller individual plants, the Flint Sitdown Strike was a first in that it helped garner a contract with General Motors, the world’s largest automaker at the time.

The plants that the UAW targeted for the Flint strike supplied Buick parts as well as parts for other GM brands. These parts would be used in the cars that would eventually make their way from the assembly line to the Buick auto dealers and other GM dealers around the country. That’s exactly why the UAW targeted these particular plants. The union wanted to cripple the auto industry for a short time to show the major car corporations just how important the workers were to the manufacturing aspect.

The Flint strike was “the strike heard ’round the world,” according to the British Broadcasting System. It resulted in the UAW growing from about 30,000 members to more than 500,000 members within the next year.

The next time you visit your local Buick dealer or drive by any other Buick auto dealers in the country, think of the sacrifice that the strikers made to help mold the industry and workforce into what it is today. Have you ever thought about what the auto industry would be like today without the union or the Flint Sitdown Strike?
